Able Radio is a voluntary organisation run by people with disability for people with a disability. We are using the power of radio to try and break down barriers so this station is about you and driven by your stories and interests. As Karl is doing so many ground breaking things, we at Able are breaking new ground by offering the first live station in the UK, maybe in the world!

Initially we are here to say hello and engage in your activity. Over time we are keen to work with all at Able Hear to develop content suitable from broadcast......an add on to this fabulous site. Maybe Karl will provide us a heading under which posts can be made for broadcast – from requests/dedications to complex issues. So early but exciting days! There is also an invitation to get involved wherever you are via voice files etc. Please feel free to have a look around ableradio.com and ask any questions. You can broadcast any topic off the forums. Would you like to run a ABLE RADIO forum on here? Then the users can suggest topics, songs, etc to you!

Able Radio is autonomous in operation and is operated by people with a disability. We are happy to raise issues which the mainstream media are scared to - ultimately this is our community, your forum, chat room and you now have an add-on radio station.

Radio ultimately is a tool to communicate with so as AbleHere develops its interaction we will gain input from the wider audience. We also hope to attract new traffic to this site, by signposting AbleHere.com

On ABLE NETWORK we will be including current forum debates, friendship and any other item you care to input on. Part of the show will also be our regular look at gadgets and aids to daily living which hopefully will link up with forum debate and news. We will also be connecting with other disability groups via facebook.

FYI The show will be broadcast live each Tuesday at 10am GMT for an hour. However, there are repeats on – Wednesday 1200 Thursday 1400 and Sunday at 1200 For people outside the UK there is also a chance to hear it Tuesday at 2000 GMT.

We will reflect views and comments expressed on AbleHere as well as comments from other sources. However, if there is something you care to air that does not fit under any forum headings then Karl is kindly creating an area for you to leave comments on here. Alternatively if you just want a request or dedication you can send them to studio@ableradio.com

For your peace of mind we will never reveal personal details, email info etc on air – if listeners wish to respond directly they will need to join Able Here and go through the normal registration process. We will only direct listeners to this site.
