I am still feeling a bit under the weather, after reducing my anti-depressants, So I change onto some new ones,
& I suffered from a fast heart beat pulse, after my wrist op on: 24-07-2008 & had to spend 2 nights in Hospital Certainly had experiance of fast heart rate....after my by-pass had some rhythmic problems..so know what your going through .... xxx

I've never suffered from fast heart beat & pulse, after my last 2 wrist ops or ear op when I was younger,
So not sure if the fast heart beat & pulse is due my anti-depressants suddenly reducing in less than a month, without a gradule decrease,
Or weather it was the wrist op.

Re:Just Released from Her Majesties Pleasure - 2008/08/04 19:30No need for my concern ..Im fine now and doing gym work every other day.....In your case it could be both the after effects of an operation or your medication....Just need to remember the heart is just a sophisticated pump and adapts to most things with a little time xx Was once told the best thing to do is..relax xx

Just been to see my G.P. & I've got to go in for an ECG & to see an Consultant Cardiologist,
My Heart Beat today was 102 beats per minute,
& on 24-07-2008 after my 3rd wrist op, it was 128 beats per minute,
& on 25-07-2008 it was 108 beats per minute in the morning & 93 beats per minute in the afternoon & just after waking up.
Boring Facts: A healthy heart beats between 60-80 times a minute.
Audit of the BHF Arrhythmia Coordinator Posts
Cardiac arrhythmias affect over 700,000 people in England, with atrial fibrillation affecting up to 1% of the population (4% of people aged over 65 years) resulting in sending of almost 1% of the entire NHS budget (Stewart et al, 2004). The addition of chapter 8 on 'Arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death' to Coronary Heart Disease: National Service Framework (NSF) for Coronary Heart Disease (CHD): Modern Standards and Service Models (DH, 2005) heralded the government's acknowledgment of this (previously omitted) important area of cardiac disease.

Re:Just Released from Her Majesties Pleasure - 2008/08/05 20:06I wouldnt worry too much about heart beat rate Scott...When Im exercising at my gym Ive had the rate between 127 and 165 ...The heart is a very tough cookie and probably the best Pump ever designed....If you try some Yoga you can bring your heart rate right down ... I was on heart reducing tablets before operation to control and take stress off heart...They can do all sorts these days xxxx Its good to be back among friends xxx

I know the heart beat can be fast through exercise & walking, jogging, bike riding, etc,
But my hearts been fast since, just after surgery for 12 days now & I ant been doing much, other than trying to rest & trying to stay away from stress.
Take Care & Take It Easy

Re:Just Released from Her Majesties Pleasure - 2008/08/05 20:13Some of the medication they give you during surgery can hang about in the body for a while xxx The ECG will tell them loads about whats happening xxx

Well I've never suffered from my last 2 wrist ops in 2003 & 2004, & nor when I had an op on my ears, when I was younger.
I think its got something to do with stress & the stupid mental health team reducing my anti-depressants so quickly & without a slow decrease.
