"300" is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.

Click here to see the profile of this user 		Re:300 - 2007/05/19 17:19 Hang on Karl - I watched this film last week, what a load of old tosh. Starts of with great chance to be accurate and then goes off on one. Heroic Spartans are all build like Arnie in the 80's and the Persians are all disfigured or almost freaklike in their appearance. The action is good but why did the director have to film it all in the dark, the Spartans held them off for days not hours. And finally why do they all insist in wearing their cloaks with their underwear, if it was cold would they have not worn tanned leather armour as per the age? Typical of Hollywood they should give up trying to tell a tale about history because the kids of today watch them and believe they are accurate. Action 7/10 film 4/10
