Britain's Missing Top Model - 2008/07/03 14:44 Did anyone see Britain's Missing Top Model on bbc 3?

Eight young disabled women discover what it takes to be a model - but which of them will win a photo shoot and appear in a top fashion magazine

I thought it was really interesting.

Re:Britain's Missing Top Model - 2008/07/04 12:17 i saw the first one, but missed the second .

in the first one, one of the judges put a quiery on whether one of the contestants should continue because her disability was not apparent in a photo.
(well, we here are all to aware of that attitude...cant see it therefore not disabled!!).

for me the judges are the spectacle here!!

Re:Britain's Missing Top Model - 2008/07/16 11:28 Jenny was kicked out last night because of her sexual behaviour towards mark - one of the judges..

She neurological condition so is there every chance that Jenny's behaviour is also affected, as well as her motor skills? Many people who sustain severe brain injuries do suffer from altered and inappropriate behaviour.

Re:Britain's Missing Top Model - 2008/07/17 13:15 What we should have is non disabled models and disabled judges. throw the lot out and claim we are better then them and I could win the model photo shoot as a nude male model.

Re:Britain's Missing Top Model - 2008/07/25 15:37 Kellie moody was kicked out because she cant speak very well, is this fair?

if Kellie Moody was a real model, who on earth would send her to a casting for a TV advert in which she would need to speak? Her work would be photographic or catwalk instead. It's not realistic at all, and the people in charge were not very flexible. She pretty much had to beg in order to do a signed version of the advert, and when she did it, it was very interesting and there could definitely be a market niche for that. There's no room for creativity here, it seems.

Is it just me or is it not obvious that the Judges have made up there minds already and Sophie is going to win? Because she is in a wheelchair!

I think Sophie is a playing unfair someetimes, for example, she didn't want anyone to wakeup Jess. This is unfair towards Jess because she sleeps a lot due to her disability

Re:Britain's Missing Top Model - 2008/07/31 16:10 The result was almost too close to call, but Sophie lost out in the end to a victorious Kelly Knox.

the way Sophie reacted to Kelly winning. No congratulations to Kelly, no hug no nothing. How unprofessional and unsupportive is that??

Kelly was the best woman to win. Her disability is visible, she is a young woman that we can all relate to and she is down to earth.

She is far from Sophie, who wants to ram her opinions down peoples throats. How wrong could she be when she said the judges made the wrong decision and that Kelly was not capable of being a spokeswoman for disabled models!!??

Sophie has been a spoil sport through this whole programme. When things are going her way she's all smiles and happy. The minute she's criticised, she gets annoyed and fed up. And as for not being "pretty enough". It is a modelling show at the end of the day. They need someone who can photograph well, and unfortunately you were up against someone better than you.

Re:Britain's Missing Top Model - 2008/08/04 14:36 I agree suzan it,s tough putting yourself out there for global critisism and i for one doubt i could do it. I from time to time get rather well.. you know what i mean! type comments from men whilst sitting in the car. The minute they see you get out with crutches they look so embarrased it,s laughable but at the same time it,s hurtfull to know that people see that and imediately put you on some sort of pity list. These ladies went out on national tv and let everyone comment on them in a personal light and that deserves a huge amount of respect regardless of their persoanl character flaws whatever they may be. Good for them!!
