Someone just eaten a Shepherds Pie maybe....I must admit ..the Cottage Pie was the best Ive made...used low fat Aberdeen Angus mince,leak,onion,beef stock,pear cider ( for a touch of lightness),thickened with flour...King Edwards Pots.....mashed and creamed with butter and milk......all topped off with large amounts of grated mature cheddar xxx mmmmmmmmmmm sorry..forgot the carrots were added xxxx

most of my family cooke it like my dad . we quickly fry the mincemeat and onions add gravy leave to simmer for awhile, then put mash potato on top, grate cheese over it and stick it in oven to brown of
my dad bless him alwas said a cottage pie or shepards pie should not have anythink else added to it, veg should be added to the plate
your sounds nice tho Tony, not sure about pear cider xxx

Much the same process...but I prefer carrots in it...The Pear cider lift it a bit and adds a touch of sweetness ....Also add loads of black pepper during cooking xxxxx;)
