I'm pretty much a humble family man. I have a wife who I have been with for twenty years now. God has blessed us with three beautiful kids, two boys and a girl who I refer to as my grandmother due to her striking resemblance to my granny.

Blind / Sight Impaired
My name is Julia and I come from Sweden. I am completely blind, but I do not let my disability stop me from accomplishing my goals. I use the computer with the help of a screen reading software called JAWS. This software translates everything that's on the screen into braille that I can then read with a special braille display that is connected to the computer. I have a Master's degree in Human Ecology. Generally, I am more of a listener than a speaker, but I always enjoy interacting with people and discussing a wide range of topics.

I'm somewhat shy so at first I may not say a lot but once we get to know each other then i'm much better. i'm not much for socializing in public, a bit of a loner. I'm married so not looking for anything other than making some new friends from pretty much anywhere in the world. Looking to meet new people, with same or even different interests.
Other disabilities: my depression/anxiety isn't 24/7, i've always had a weight problem, i'm overweight but i don't really think of it as obese and my learning problems are minimal. So for me personally, i would never have labelled myself as having a disability but according to the list apparently I do to some degree. I really just see people as people, I don't particularly care for labels. You're a person first and foremost.

I love music, reading and watching sports. Anyone who chooses to contact me doesn't have to be interested in the same things but it might help.

I am single, I am a fun loving person who likes meeting people from all over the world, I am also a good listener, and I love helping if and where I can. I am quite open minded, I am not offended easily, I even sometimes make jokes about my disability. I say that life is to short too be sad and sorry, if life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

I have a two star rating from the British Egg Marketing Board. and am available for cooked breakfasts (full - english } for omelets and for custards prepared according to original recipes . I enjoy good humour and inspiring conversations with any one who would care to call. Dont let the science stuff put you off please ! I am very sensitive also to emotions , love and tragedy and suffering ,and isnt the world just full of all these.. There is of course, no way out of the suffering and tragedies of life....but having someone to talk to sure does help...... And though the reallity of this seems incongruous in the extreme - humour comedy and laughter, are often the only help to lighten the load. Also for me studying all the weird and wonderful things that life presents, carries me away from present realities, into another realm. I collect books by the dozen ( a dozen = 12 ! ) - mostly from junk - shops, car- boot sales or charity shops , - whole worlds of wonder for pennies ( 1 penny = next door to nothing ) I also capture many tv programs concerning the sciences and arts on DVD , and am always ready to share these - and the books with anyone. In Britain we often take for granted the phenomenally rich heritage of Arts Science Literature And Music we have, virtually at our fingrtips.- and we get busy complaining about the weather - ( to be fair, it is Truly Awful at times - well most of the time actually ) - SO Hit me up sometimes - why dont you. - but not too hard - I might crack. ! Thankyou! I am Duncan.

Depression / Anxiety
I do know why I’m here but my reason wasn’t listed. I suffer from Depression and I know first hand that unless you suffer some type disability yourself, you just don’t understand. I’m here for anyone who needs a friend, someone who needs someone that understands or someone who just want to talk. I really just want to make a difference in someone’s day.

I have been a type 1 diabetic for over 50 years, and lost my sight to being a bad kid who thumbed her moon pie at all the doctors. I have lived most of my life in NY, and have been here in the sort-of-south, since my husband passed away, a few years ago. Wouldn't mind finding a worm hole to a shining moment, past or future. I do still enjoy all the good things like books, music, sharing a munch, having a good laugh, and of course, shopping, both in the flesh and in the ether. I greatly value courtesy, kindness and good humor--yes, I am a throwback to a lost age.

The heavy brainstem hemorrhage I suffered from July 16, 2008 left me quite impaired. Can't properly walk, balance is gone for good, couldn't swallow for two and a half years, now I can! right side is plegic, (used to be right-handed), became left-handed, wheelchair user, sight's impared, and I won't get into too many details here, hearing's impared too, though only a bit, speech was gone for a while, now it's back, though my voice is not anymore as it used to be. I am looking for friends to write/talk to on Skype, and share experiences...(I'm still possessing excellent thinking capabilities).

I'm a single father of one my son lives with me full time. I have a hard time making friends. I'm looking for people to talk to. I'm pretty much isolated where I live and don't really have anyone to talk to. My family lives over 3 hours away so it's not always easy to get in touch with them. Ask me anything.
