Stroke Survivor
meeting new friends
I have been married since 1991 to DAB (David).
I have been out of the wheelchair since 1993 when David gave me the encouragement to get up and walk, which is what I did and carried on doing from that day on.
To show how much I was walking since 1996 i joined the local Taekwon-do (martail arts) group and did this for 9 years. During this time I completed 4 grading, and was proud of them all, seeing as I was the only disabled one on the group.
About the same time as joining Taekwon-do I also joined a local darts team who reaised money for the local life boats.
my darts are my hobby as well and i have written a book of how i have coped with a stroke which has been published now. It is called 'Life After My Stroke'. It is on sale now through the AutherHouse.co.uk website or through the WHSmith website. Happy reading.
