Many years ago, I had to part ways with one of my good friends.

I was invited to dinner at his place and we were having a great time.

Then he started telling me about a topic.

He held very strong views about it, I could tell.

All opinions can be held, and I had different ones.

While I won't go into the specifics, I realized that evening, that no amount of factual evidence would make him change his views.

That evening, I realized that I had to part ways with him.

It hurt a lot.

That was many years ago.

Now, I don't know about you, but I can't hold grudges for very long. I just can't.

So I made contact with him and we reconnected.

Here is the thing:

You may hold grudges for any number of reasons. But, most of the time, the person you're harming is yourself.

Life is a play with several acts.

For real.

And if you think about it, about your own experience, chances are you will see why.

People come and go into your life.

Some are there for the first act only.

Some are here to stay.

I've found that the ones who come and go are mostly here to teach you something. I once wrote a post called "Teachers", where I brushed on this concept.

The thing is, as is the case with plays, you may be taken aback by a few things, such as :

- People coming and going

- A play in 4 acts where you thought there would only be 3

Most of the time, I enjoy watching a play that I already have read in a book. I guess you can relate.

The difference is, if your life were a play, it would be scripted.

And if your life is scripted, you're not really living.

Sure, having a script to look up to, can sometimes comfort you whenever you don't know what the next step is.

But if you only live your life by the script, you're not going to get any fulfillment.

And isn't fulfillment what Life is all about?

I enjoy talking to people. I like to know what their take on Life is - among a whole lot of other related topics, which could fill a book.

Most of the time, they tell me they wish they could be more spontaneous, and live a more care-free life.

Spontaneity is what helps you get the most out of life.
