I am here to share my experience of living a life filled with joy and meaning while being disabled.
My mission is to show what's possible when you're disabled - you'd be amazed!
Most of the stuff we know about treating disabilities, revolves around the physical side of things.
But very little is said about what to do when you are disabled:
- how to go about making friends?
- what about dates? How can you go to 3/4 real dates per week?
- most importantly, how can YOU shine and make people see past your disability?
I thought a lot about it, and I'm here to help you.

About Me
I’m recently single and currently recovering from an incident that left me needing reconstructive surgery on my right arm and left leg. The recovery process is ongoing, and while I don’t yet know if there will be lasting effects, at the moment my mobility is limited and I rely on a crutch. Physically, I may look like someone with a limp and an arm in a cast, but beneath that there’s also the challenge of adjusting to scars and the appearance of my reconstructed leg and foot. As a naturally introverted person, the idea of someone seeing these for the first time feels daunting — but I’m working through it and open to meeting someone who understands.

Friends describe me as calming, patient, and wise. I’m generally a quiet person who dislikes confrontation.

I’m in my mid 60s, retired after a 30 year career in public agency. I hold Bachelors (BA) and Masters (MA) Degrees in a social science field. My disability is cerebral diplegia (a form of cerebral palsy) with “multiple congenital anomalies. I have a slight to moderate speech impediment. I am also a full-time wheelchair user. I have two wheelchairs, a manual one, and a power one).
