Hi - another newbie!
I've been disabled for seven years, severely disabled for nearly 3 years, although I've been working in the field of diversity (ironically) for around 20 years.
I am unable to sit, and have difficulty standing or walking, so I spend most of my life lying flat. However, I'm able to stand and walk for very short periods with a back brace and crutches, and can be transported lying flat if I need to travel further than a mile or so. I'm the only person I know too disabled to use a wheelchair!
Despite this (or maybe because of it) I run a couple of companies. One is a not-for-profit job board for disabled job seekers called Evenbreak ( www.evenbreak.co.uk - have a look and see what you think!) and also a couple of diversity training companies.
I have two absolutely gorgeous daughters (biased? Me??) and live and work in the Midlands.
OK that's enough about me - tell me who you are, and how best to get to know people in this wonderful community!

At this stage my disability can be managed. Yours sounds very restricting, but we are lucky to be in the age of the Internet. As they say, let your fingers do the walking.
Best wishes

Hi greg, Welcome to Able here! Is it true, you don't have many disability websites in Australia?
