This thread was dreamed up by dorrie and i folk. Dorrie thought it would be a great idea and being a fellow book lover i agree so everyone that ever has a book to recomend or discuss even if any of us has read it this is the book corner!! I have just finished reading The Trouble with Alex by Melanie Allen.This is a true story about a young family who adopt a special needs child,it is written by the mother.This is a really good read but be warned have the hankies at the ready.

Iv not long finished Bones and Ashes by Kathy Reichs. Her books are the basis for the series on TV Bones? Very good stuff but if you don,t like forensic pathology it,s not for you lol.:ohmy:

Another tear jerker is For the Love of Julie,this is written by Ann Ming who is Julie's mother.A story of a mother's loss,the police failing badly in their duty,also a grave miscarriage of justice.

i just started to read 'The Step Child' by Donna Ford
its a true story of donna being abused by her stepmother....
only just really started to read it so dont reallt no whats happeing in it much yet

I have read loads of diffrent books over the years..
David Gemmell's book called Lion of Macedon is about Parmenion,it tells about his life growing up in Sparta and being dispised by the rich and powerfull and a lot of spartan worriers,.because his father a spartan married a macedonion.it gives an insite into the Sparta way of life, how he mets and helps philip who later became king of macadon,by being his General and using his training learnt in Sparta to defeat all the diffrent states in what is now called Greece,,Alixcander The Great Final finshed what his father started...

Just finished Rough Justice by Gilda O'Neill.This is a work of fiction but I found it a very good read.Follows a young child through her life, from the death of her mother,to her time spent in the orphanage,also what happened to her after she left there.

I have not read that book Dorrie .. I was in a orphanage from the age ot 2 when my mother died untill my father got married again just before I was 10 yrs old.I was happy there. maybe I was one of the lucky ones.because you read a lot of how children where abused ot beating

Am currently reading a big heavy called warlock by wilbur smith based on the queen lostris of egypt chronicles as told by her slave Taita the eunech. Got that ?? yea heavy stuff invloving the phaeronic bloodlines of egypt. But really good too!!!
