We watched Rag Tag and Bobtail

We watched The Wooden Tops ...Bill and Ben the flower pot men

A van delivered lemonade and pop..Corona

The Rag and Bone man used to come round on his horse and cart....

Only the wealthy drove a car...

I liked those coke bottle sweets.

When sweets finally came off the ration there were queues all round the block.

There was a drink called...Jungle Juice....Sherbert Flying Saucers ( never thought much of them)....Sherbert Dips ( liked them ..came with a stick of Liquerice xxx )

Used to play Football with a leather ball and a bladder inside...When it rained the ball was twice as heavy

Goalkeepers wore woolen jumpers

Took a wooden Rattle to games... xxxx

After Primary school ended for the day....we would Q at the kitchen window of the nearby Transport cafe and buy dripping on bread....

Went everywhere by bus....or walked xxxx

Made a go-kart type thing from an old pram...no brakes and almost killed on several runs ....

Oh yes....Used to get sent off to Sunday School at local Congregational Church..knowing what I know now ( with the benefit of age and sometimes experiencelol)..Think my parents wanted the house to themselves...It never got me interested in religion either xxxx

they are now saying after telling everybody the opposite that children need to be exposed to a bit of dirty as the imune sytom gets built up to counter act asma,colds and othere things
we could have told them that for free

also milk is good for the bones a bit of fat in diet is good and tea
