Had a surprise when I went to order a repeat prescription from my G.P's on Wednesday one of my repeat medications Folic Acid had been removed from my repeat prescription. Luckily it was my friend who was on the phone who works at my G.P's and she explained that the Government was trying to cut costs from the NHS and has made all Pharmacies check everyone's Prescriptions and anything that can be brought over the counter is to be removed from repeat prescriptions. So if you get anything like vitamins, folic acid, Paracetamol on prescription it's being removed to cut costs!! So if like me your on Benefits it's another expense to add and over the counter meds like Folic acid are not cheap I have learned! So get ready to have to buy certain tablets, creams or even eye/nose/ ear drops your G.P put on prescription for you that you can buy over the counter!!
