Medication was created by BUBBADOG14
Because I've been living with my illness for over 15yrs now and I've been on several different meds I've learned that your body can become immune to the dose your on and then it's a case of your G.P increasing the dose or changing you to another medication. I've been on Cyclizine (an anti-nausea drug) for around 15yrs and have had to increase the dose I've been on several times now due to becoming immune. And over the last week I've started to feel nauseous and have a bad tummy and have realized that the Cyclizine dose I'm on I've become immune to. So now I've got to get an appointment or phone consultation slot to speak to my G.P to figure out the next step as to finding a new dose or new drug for anti-nausea. Do any of you suffer with the same thing becoming immune to your meds?

Amanda, yes! My pain medication I used for bad flare ups started not working as well for me. At times it actually made the fibro pain worse. I was taken off of it but have nothing to really take it's place except the milder pain medication I usually take. It has been very difficult lately and instead of being active now that summer is here, I spend most of the time in bed, in pain.

Well, yeah, that's exactly what I did, didn't I? But maybe, my fault of course, I just don't get what you mean, BUBBA! Take care! Tessa

I'm here! Actually, I have not been feeling well lately at all. I did get in to see my doctor and he has ordered a sleep study to start with. I'm starting to have some puzzling symptoms, including heart arhythmias, dizzy spells and other scary stuff. I am unable to do much physical activity (even less than usual) without problems. I guess that sleep deprivation, or not going through the proper stages of sleep can be dangerous. I started taking Ambien, a sleeping pill, 3 days ago and I have to say I feel a little better in the morning, but I'm exhausted beyond that.

So sorry your suffering, when they ran a heart trace for 24hrs on me due to disturbed sleep from sezuires they found I had a irregular heart pattern due to me having an extra heart beat! It's not dangerous but if I over do it I get dizzy from this extra heart beat! The feeling tired in the morning could be a side effect of this sleeping tablet, did you read the side effects on the leaflet? Hope you feel better soon.

Amanda that sounds very much like what I'm going through. I've had premature heartbeats since my 20s and I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. They were worse during pregnancies, and definitely during stressful times. I have medication for that, but it just seems to be getting worse regardless of any anxiety. Physical activity seems to trigger it. I've gained quite a bit of weight, which seems to have made it worse as well. I've had the 24 hour monitor done several times and have been told the irregular heartbeats are harmless. That was years ago. Now I've had the semi-fainting thing going on and that scares me. Thursday I see a sleep specialist and should have a sleep study soon after that, perhaps that night. From what I've read, fibromyalgia can trigger these weird heart beats as well. Jana

Wow, I never knew that you've taught me something new! You are very knowledgeable on this subject. Good for you for learning about this. It all helps you in the end. I hope they can help you when you see the sleep specialists. We all need a good sleep especially so when you are ill.

All medication has side effects, so you start with one then other is taken to deal with the side effects of the first and so it goes on. So you end up on no end of drugs to deal with the original problem, I just bung them all together and have a cocktail. :P

It is a case of just getting on with it! And when one decides it's no longer going to work you just have to get your Dr to either increase it or change it! It just becomes part and parcel of your life!!
