I can feel lonely in a crowd of people, if you are not with your special person I guess you feel lonely

I do know that feeling to sandie, I've been there a few times at parties and just in a crowd of people.

It does get better with time,my Husband's father passed away a few years ago and we both loved him very, very much and the loss we felt suffocated us for 12mnths but gradually with time that has eased and now we look at the good times rather than feel sad because that is how he would want us to remember him. You can't keep feeling low otherwise it will consume you and you will become ill from it. Maybe you need to speak to a professional about it like a doctor.

I did speak to Scott's Phycologist when she was here yesterday she seems to think I'm doing ok, it's just silly little things that set off the tears.

Sometimes when your disability is misbehaving badly I can feel like I'm alone but you just have maybe come on this site or another that specializes in your disability and you can see your not alone. Glad things are getting better for you.

Its easy to think being alone equates to being lonely and being with someone is the antithesis of loneliness. But yes it is possible to feel lonely as a crowd when in a host of golden ones. I often felt lonely when visitors stayed too long when on a hospital ward! I have a partner who stays at weekends and that suits us both.
A wonderfully cynical song has cheered me in the past; here's a few words.

Loneliness is happiness, it takes less than two
I confess that I digress from it when I'm with you.
Let us make a brand-new start, separate and stay apart
I've had enough having ad holding, I'd rather be lonely.
