Knitting or sewing by hand. The repetitive motion of making a stitch relaxes me. If I'm hardcore stressed, near a panic attack, I have a relaxation CD. Also a bubble bath works. It gets the stress out of my back, anyway. Favorite bubble bath scent? Violet.

Some stress is good undue levels of stress are a uncomfortable and may if the causes are not addressed can lead to disaster. Unfortunately for many of us high stress levels are inevitable. When I was a child chopping wood helped and also going for a walk right up until I needed a wheelchair. Now I find using my manual wheelchair outside the confines of home one of the most stressful activities.
Writing stops stress in its tracks and gives me something to see for my efforts as does gardening when my health and the weather permits. Even writing this has settled me down although I've been writing since 8.00 this morning until now 3.15 pm with only a one hour break for lunch and the news.
My other stress beater is the one I first suggested on this thread!
