Bloody Social workers

Today I had a meeting with my new social worker, she got me angry as she thought I was stupid! I said I have a degree so I am not stupid!!!

Scotty just tells them they are sacked, hes done that to quite a few over the years

I've seen mine once. Totally underwhelmed!

I have always believed that a social worker working for a client who is physically challenged should themselves be physically challenged. How else can they be expected to have any comprehension of our lives needs and desires

Don't let her talk down at you or patronise you, you're the one who's living with the disability so you'll know way more than she'll ever know. It all about power just remember your in control of your life not her. Some social workers have no understanding whats it like to be disabled. They really shouldn't be doing the job just like there are bad teachers in schools!..

Karl, Remind her you are with the same undeniable rights as all Individuals ~~~

Even if you had absolutely no qualifications at all you're still not stupid!

Get in there and show her who is BOSS!

IF not for your situation the social workers would be garbage haulers.
Again, you you have the same equal undeniable rights as anyone,
ENFORCE it with them ~Right from the git go, they have a job due to your need not theirs.

The original post was from 7 years ago so the situation has passed, but now all social services are under a terrible strain here in the U.K since Covid hit there isn't enough staff to cover all sectors of the social services and people who need their help are waiting a long time for the help. The whole social care sector is under terrible strain and people who are desperate for their help are having to wait for their help or are being failed. The Government should take a step back and see what a mess the whole Social care system and the NHS is in instead of talking bile in interviews. Take a deep breath Bubba! I'll get off my soap box now!!
